THE STARTING OF THE STREET CARNIVAL:

LA ELECCIÓN DE LA REINA DEL CARNAVAL DE TENERIFE (The Queen Gala Election) represents the starting of the street carnival. This year is going to happen on the 7th February 2018 . Be ready to buy the tickets for the gala online NOW because they sold out quickly. You can do it here:

The first STREET PARADE will start on Friday the 9th February in the evening along the streets of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. This is a perfect moment to see all the dancing and singing groups together with the Queens (we have three Queens: a child , an adult and a senior queen).

The 14th February is another day to remember: THE BURIAL OF THE SARDINE, get ready to cry a lot and dress up like a widow:

TRAVELLING & BOOKING TO BE HERE:

February is a busy month in Tenerife so try to book your flight and accommodation in advance. Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the city in the island where Carnival starts and that’s the place to be. If you dont find accommodation there dont worry: public transport in the island run 24 hours a day during street carnival so you can book around Tenerife and use it.
