What happens when a group of hairdressing students from Iceland brings their skills to Tenerife?

Five days of learning, practising, sharing and discovering.

Together with two accompanying teachers, we organised a tailor-made Erasmus+ mobility programme designed to combine professional learning with cultural and team experiences.

Learning from each other
One of the highlights was visiting IES Manuel Martín González in Guía de Isora, where the Icelandic students met local hairdressing students, exchanged experiences and took part in practical activities. It was a fantastic opportunity to see how hairdressing is taught in Spain while sharing the knowledge and techniques they had already developed in Iceland.

Putting skills into practice
The group also took part in a hands-on professional hairdressing workshop with an experienced local hairdresser, practising techniques, working with professional tools and products, and learning from real salon experience.

 Learning beyond the classroom
The programme also included a whale and dolphin watching experience, a day at Siam Park and a final reflection session connecting the new experiences with the students' previous knowledge.

For us at Tenerife Job Training, this is one of the most valuable aspects of student mobility: creating real opportunities for young people to learn from others, share what they know and see their profession from a different perspective.
