Erasmus KA2 Kick off meeting - Baby Boomers Active While Ageing

Across Europe, life expectancy continues to increase, and societies are facing new challenges to ageing, wellbeing and social inclusion. Supporting older generations to remain active, healthy and connected has become an important priority for the future of European communities.

For this reason, the BB AWA Smart – Active While Ageing project has been launched as a European KA2 Erasmus+ initiative, bringing together organisations committed to innovation in adult education, active ageing and sustainable lifestyles. Tenerife Job Training is proud to participate as a project partner in this important international cooperation.

The primary aim of BB AWA Smart is to promote the benefits of independently sustainable, active and enriching lifestyles for members of the baby boomer generation and other senior citizens. Through collaboration between European partners, the project will develop practical tools, learning resources and new opportunities that respond to the needs of today’s ageing population.

The project focuses on several strategic priorities. These include contributing to social inclusion and combating age discrimination, facilitating healthier and more fulfilling lifestyles for seniors, creating connected learning opportunities for baby boomers and educators, strengthening intercultural awareness, and promoting the added value of European cooperation. It also seeks to raise awareness of how simple daily actions can help protect the environment.

The results of the project will be widely shared through dissemination activities that sustainable development, European values and the impact of the Erasmus+ Programme. By working together across borders, the partnership aims to build a strong community of practice dedicated to improving quality of life while ageing.

Through its participation in BB AWA Smart, Tenerife Job Training continues its long-standing commitment to European cooperation, innovation and inclusive education projects that generate real benefits for people and communities.
