Attending the 2025 EFVET Annual Conference in Fátima. Portugal

Last month Mariví Gracia, manager of TJT attended the three days conference by EFVET filled with connections, learning and future projects planning with colleagues from all over Europe. The conference took place in Fátima, Portugal and focused on the strategic importance of well-being in VET, with discussions emphasizing that digitalisation must enhance learning while safeguarding mental health. The keynote highlighted how educators can help learners — and themselves — find purpose and human connection at the centre of the learning process.

Moderated discussions addressed the challenges of digitalisation:
- 1 billion people live with a mental disorder

- 1 in 7 adolescents faces mental health issues

- 67% of teachers report anxiety, and 23% show signs of depression

The panel underlined the need for whole-institution approaches to create safer, healthier learning environments.

- 21ST IMPACT – Empowering young people with 21st-century skills for digital media literacy and AI understanding.

- Designing Well-being in the OECD Learning and Teaching Compass – Practical strategies for embedding well-being into VET.
